Gentlemen (And Nuddy )
As you may have read elsewhere, the deposits many of you have paid on previous matches have been recovered, and people who have paid have the opportunity to have them returned.
Given that a fiver won't even get you 2 pints nowadays I'd like to make the following proposal on behalf of Yanglers:
1. Yanglers becomes subject to a one off, non refundable £5 joining fee. This joining fee will allow you access to booking a peg on matches in advance, in the same way as the YMA system worked.
2. In addition to a one off joining fee membership of Yanglers will become subject to an annual membership, also set at £5 running from January to December.
The reason for this annual membership is to allow the club to generate sufficient income to pay match deposits in advance and purchase, for example, match scales.
A few important points:
1. The total of these deposits and annual memberships will be published along with match accounts and lists of members. There will be no 'black holes' or unaccounted money.
2. The object is not to generate as much money as possible, when a time is reached when there is sufficient money in the club to pay future deposits we will look at ways of returning money to the members, a free match, a presentation evening and golden peg have been discussed but opinions welcome.
What you need to do now:
1. For those of you with deposits in the previous club you simply need to cofirm that you'd like to transfer your membership and we'll confirm your membership in Yanglers. You'll then need to pay your £5 annual membership at the 1st match you attend.
2. Those with no deposit can pay their £5 joining fee + £5 annual fee on the 1st match.
3. Anyone who would like a deposit returned please confirm and I will arrange.
Please confirm below how you'd like to proceed. I will assume anyone who hasn't responded by 31st Jan 2010 would like to become a member of Yanglers and will proceed accordingly.
Questions welcome.
Mike
