hiya guys, i have NEVER fished with expander pellets, so i have a few questions. i've read quite a bit on some other forums but want YOUR opinions.
1st - to pump or not to pump? i did read that pumping pellets of certain brands can ruin the consistency and make them too soft to stay on the hook. what is the alternative to pumping pellets and how is it done?
2nd - brand of pellet seems to be important. as a newb, what brands should i avoid and what brands tend to produce better results
3rd - if pumping pellets is the way to go, which pump would YOU recommend?
i look forward to hearing your PERSONAL opinions

It's all down to personal preference mate! What most people tend to do is go through every time of expanded on the Market until they find one they like, I love the GOT baits expanders in 4mm but they are crap in 6mm, I use 6mm ringers next generation but the 4mm are crap! I recommended the ringers to leaky cos I thought they were awesome and he cane back and said he hated them! So it's all down to personal preference depends if you like a wet soggy pellet or one that's quite firm! Pellet choice is a bitch to get right but once you find one you like stick with it, but hey what do I know I'm gone int game!!!!! but ask dreadlock caster about his kinky pellets they are the dogs bellexs

You want them to come off when you touch a fish. If they don't come just about every time you bump one, the pellets arent soft enough. As long as you can ship it out, its not too soft.

ringers cool water all year round,if you need them abit tougher just add geletine when preparing them. and store in fridge overnight.if theres toomany nuisance silvers stick to banded hard pellets in summer or meat,.

again, thanks for the tips lads. just need the weather to be nice to me now and i might actually get out and try a few expanders. i had a look round my local tackle shop for them ringers cool water ones, none in stock. are the ringers bag up expander pellets any good? i bought some 4mm to try and see how i go. also bought some sensas 6mm (cos they didn't have the ringers ones in 6mm). will try both (when the lids are gone) and see what i prefer. i suppose pellets are no different to groundbait, it's all about the confidence factor. what i mean by this is, if you try brand "a" of pellet and have a good day, you will keep using it. does this make sense to anyone???

Yes mate, makes sense to me, confidence is a massive factor in everything, there are better pellet anglers out there than me who will all be willing to give advice with some kind hearted pms, Try Hatman and drawbag roberts, im sure they would help, I would have said ask Pats but he's gone int game ..
